Virtual Nature Photography Workshop

Thursday June 4th 6PM and Monday June 8th 6PM
Your own home!

Are you stuck at home and looking for ways to keep connecting with the natural world? Take a moment to think about all of the beauty surrounding your home and neighborhood. There is much to be noticed right there! Join Wenatchee River Institute and local nature photographer Reed Carlson from Icicle Valley Photography for a multi-session workshop on capturing better photographs wherever you are.

This workshop will provide you with routes and strategies for photographing nature, people and events of your life. We will provide you with ideas and a toolkit to help you make your own pathway of visual explorations more honest and exciting.

Class limit: 25
Cost: $30 members, $35 non-members

Our first session, on Thursday June 4th, will be focused on meeting the instructor and other workshop participants in an informal online session. Reed will provide you with a set of resources to assist your camera and editing skills. He will answer any questions you have about the upcoming event. Reed will end this evening session by sending you off with a photography challenge! You will have the whole weekend to complete this challenge, immersing yourself in the natural world.

We will come back together on Monday, June 8th, to see what you shot. Reed, and the other participants, will be able to see your work, providing constructive critique to build upon your skills.

What you need:
-a camera of some sort (cell phone, digital, etc.)
-familiarity with your camera device and computer for uploading your photos. Reed can provide additional instruction if needed by prior arrangement.
-access to internet and Zoom
-a curiosity to reach out and expand your visual skills through photography
