Gardening Indoors & Planning; It’s never too early to start planning!

Have you always wanted to grow your own food, herbs, or flowers, but have never known where to start? Or maybe you were worried about not having enough space. It’s never too early in the year to start planning for the next! There are a lot of things you can do and grow over winter.

In this class, we’ll start by learning about plant hardiness zones, understanding seed packets, and what is needed. Next, we’ll dive a little deeper with a discussion on which plants grow well next to each other (handouts provided to take home). We will also learn about how to plan out the space of your garden or inside by a window/with lights, with designated time to sketch your own garden designs with assistance. At the end of the class, we’ll have an open discussion where you can ask questions and we can problem-solve together. You may even get some tips for holiday gifts for the gardeners in your life!

Please note: This class will be capped at 25 participants so the instructor has a chance to work one on one with all the participants in their own person garden planning process. Due to the limited space we encourage you to register to attend if you are interested. If you are unable to attend the class, be sure to cancel your reservation so others will be able to attend.

Presenter Bio: Chelsea Trout is a Community Programs Educator for the Wenatchee River Institute. She has worked in environmental and public education for over ten years and is an avid gardener.
