WVC's Sustainability Committee Earth Day/Poetry Month Celebration
In honor of Earth Day and Poetry Month, Wenatchee Valley College's Sustainability Committee is putting on a celebration! Join two of our planet’s most celebrated Earth Writers, Ross Gay and Scott Russell Sanders, for a reading and conversation with Derek Sheffield, Dr. Joan Qazi, and other members of the Sustainability Committee. Together, with beautiful writing and the fine art of conversation, they will celebrate the joy of connection and a vision of what it means to live sustainably.
Some information on the writers:
Both Scott Sanders and Ross Gay are wise and engaging ambassadors of sustainability. The essays written by Scott Sanders place people and social justice at the heart of sustainability. Ross Gay is also quite well known right now, he brings people together through poems that celebrate joy and delight, plus his leading efforts at community gardening.
