Bike & Explore Camp with Evergreen & WRI
July 17-21, 2023
9:00am-3:00pm daily
Campers ages 6-10

Kids ages 6-10 are invited to join us for 5 full days of awesomeness, riding their bike and exploring nature in a safe and supportive environment! This camp is offered in partnership between Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and Wenatchee River Institute.

Morning session: From 9am to noon each day participants will be learning mountain bike skills such as body position and balance, braking, climbing and descending techniques, gearing and shifting, front and rear wheel lifts, cornering, roll downs and other trail skills to help with success on single track trail riding.

On the final day, students will have the chance to work alongside Evergreen trail builders, learn the basics of trail maintenance, and help give back to the trails we all love! No experience necessary.

Lunch and shuttle: Noon to 1pm participants will eat their lunch (not provided) and will be transported, along with their bike, to Wenatchee River Institute.

Afternoon session: From 1pm to 3pm participants will spend time learning with Wenatchee River Institute exploring the natural world of Barn Beach Reserve and beyond! Explore wooded trails, along the river bank, and in the tall grasses of the meadow. Have fun and make new discoveries while playing lots of games!

You will drop your child off each day at 9am at Ski Hill and pick your child up at 3pm at Wenatchee River Institute, 347 Division Street, Leavenworth.

Participants must be 6-10 years old.

Class Focus:
The Basics: gearing up, braking, shifting, and body position
Balance: bridges, skinnies, and bike games
Uphill and Downhill: safer and faster
Trail maintenance: Friday will be focused on giving back to the trails we love and learning the basics of trail building
