 INCLUDES TWO SATURDAYS - March 12th and 19th. The first class will be your
  time to create your masterpiece out of clay with instruction from Martha.
  Your piece will be fired in Martha's kiln before the next class. The seco
 nd Saturday you will paint or glaze your sculpture. \n\nFamily Friendly\nC
 ost: Pay What You Can structure. This structure is to help make our commun
 ity classes more accessible. Our hope is that those who can pay will\, and
  that will help cover those who cannot. \nLimit of 10 participants. \n\nFo
 r programs that have both indoor and outdoor components\, we prefer that p
 articipants are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.\n\nInstructor Bio:\nMartha 
 Flores was born in Guatemala and raised in El Salvador. She attended El Ca
 mino Community College and earned her AA degree. She also attended Califor
 nia State University Los Angeles\, where she received her BA degree in 197
 5 and later\, in 1979\, her Master's in Fine Art. Martha also has a master
 's in counseling psychology.\nMartha worked as a family therapist in her p
 rivate practice for 30 years. She contracted with Eastmont School District
 \, DSHS\, CPS\, Juvenile Center\, Head Start\, Maternity Support Services\
 , and Catholic Families. She taught Spanish and art appreciation classes a
 t Wenatchee Valley College. She teaches parenting classes\, Love and Logic
  for Together for Drug free Youth\, art classes at Wenatchee Valley Museum
  and Playback Theatre\, and at some of the schools in the area.\nPrior to 
 moving to Wenatchee in 1992\, she had many art exhibits and commendations 
 including one from the then Mayor of Los Angeles Tom Bradley. She has writ
 ten two books in Spanish. She is frequently called upon for public speakin
 g engagements to share her unique blend of inspiration\, motivation and cr
 eativity on women's\, children's and family themes\, drawing upon her year
 s of experience as both a professional artist and as a family counselor. S
 he has taught art in California and Washington for over thirty years and h
 as exhibited in several galleries\, museums and other venues in the Northw
 est for the last 22 years.\nMartha has served on several boards\, includin
 g Allied Arts\, Wenatchee Museum and Wenatchee Art Commissioners. She volu
 nteers at the museum and at Bruce Housing.\nMartha and her husband Rod wer
 e foster parents of adolescent boys for seven years.
