 \nJoin local artist Martha Flores\, Master of Fine Arts\, to create your o
 wn sculpture learning clay modeling techniques. Let your imagination run w
 ild\, you can create anything your heart desires!\n\nThis class includes t
 wo Saturdays. The first class will be your time to create your masterpiece
  out of clay with instruction from Martha. Your piece will be fired in Mar
 tha's kiln before the next class. The second Saturday you will paint or gl
 aze your sculpture.\n\nCost: Pay What You Can structure. This structure is
  to help make our community classes more accessible. Our hope is that thos
 e who can pay will\, and that will help cover those who cannot.\nLimit of 
 10 participants.\n\nInstructor Bio:\nMartha Flores was born in Guatemala a
 nd raised in El Salvador. She attended El Camino Community College and ear
 ned her AA degree. She also attended California State University Los Angel
 es\, where she received her BA degree in 1975 and later\, in 1979\, her Ma
 ster's in Fine Art. Martha also has a master's in counseling psychology.\n
 Martha worked as a family therapist in her private practice for 30 years. 
 She contracted with Eastmont Schood District\, DSHS\, CPS\, Juvenile Cente
 r\, Head Start\, Maternity Support Services\, and Catholic Families. She t
 aught Spanish and art appreciation classes at Wenatchee Valley College. Sh
 e teaches parenting classes\, Love and Logic for Together for Drug free Yo
 uth\, art classes at Wenatchee Valley Museum and Playback Theatre\, and at
  some of the schools in the area.\nPrior to moving to Wenatchee in 1992\, 
 she had many art exhibits and commendations including one from the then Ma
 yor of Los Angeles Tom Bradley. She has written two books in Spanish. She 
 is frequently called upon for public speaking engagements to share her uni
 que blend of inspiration\, motivation and creativity on women's\, children
 's and family themes\, drawing upon her years of experience as both a prof
 essional artist and as a family counselor. She has taught art in Californi
 a and Washington for over thirty years and has exhibited in several galler
 ies\, museums and other venues in the Northwest for the last 22 years.\nMa
 rtha has served on several boards\, including Allied Arts\, Wenatchee Muse
 um and Wenatchee Art Commissioners. She volunteers at the museum and at Br
 uce Housing.\nMartha and her husband Rod were foster parents of adolescent
  boys for seven years.
