X-WR-CALDESC:Learn the art of making incredible night photographs with this
  single-session workshop. Anyone can create successful long-exposure photo
 graphic imagery with a little direction\, practice and patience. This clas
 s provides the foundation and support for capturing the beauty and nuance 
 of nighttime with your camera.\n\nClass will focus on the technical aspect
 s and creative applications of long-exposure image making. Additional topi
 cs to be covered include photographic light writing and light painting.\n
 \nThis course is geared toward intermediate-level photographers\, but all 
 are welcome to attend to expand their photographic knowledge and skill set
 . The course consists of instruction\, structured exercises\, guided pract
 ice and one-on-one feedback.  All photographing will take place on the gro
 unds of the WRI.\n\nParticipants must bring their own camera and tripod. A
 ny type of tripod that securely holds your camera will work (examples incl
 ude: tabletop\, travel-size\, GorillaPod\, pistil-grip heads\, standard fu
 ll-size aluminum and even older wooden ones). Your camera must have manual
 ly or semi-manually adjustable exposure controls. Having some photographic
  experience and a basic understanding of your camera is recommended.\n\nCl
 ass is limited to 15.\n\nCost: Non-members $55\, Members $45. Use promo co
 de 'alpine' if you're a member.\n\nThe instructor for this course\, Linda 
 Lyons\, is a passionate and dedicated educator\, artist and facilitator of
  community. She is a nature enthusiast\, avid trail runner\, novice climbe
 r and lost-dog magnet. Linda has extensive experience in darkroom\, antiqu
 e processes and digital photographic practice and instruction. She has exh
 ibited her art nationally and internationally and has been published in pr
 int and web-based periodicals. Linda is currently a photography instructor
  at Indiana University South Bend and Wenatchee Valley College. Linda is c
 ommitted to creating welcoming\, inclusive learning spaces and is a LGBTQ+
  advocate.\n\nLinda considers life an art adventure and enjoys supporting 
 others’ creative endeavors. She encourages her students to consider themse
 lves storytellers\, image-makers and artists. When not making or teaching 
 art\, Linda can be found hiking and training for ultra-marathons.
