X-WR-CALDESC:This event is organized by the Wenatchee Valley Erratics Chapt
er of the Ice Age Flood Institute\, and will be held at the Wenatchee Vall
ey Museum & Cultural Center. \n\nDr. Ralph Dawes\, Professor of Earth Scie
nce\, Wenatchee Valley College\, will discuss the “Glaciated landscape tha
t formed beneath the Okanogan Lobe of the Cordilleran Ice Sheet” in north
central Washington. This area\, including Douglas County north of Watervil
le and all of Okanogan County\, was studied early in the last century by w
 ell-known geologists J Harlan Bretz\, Richard Foster Flint\, and Aaron C.
Waters. How the ice sheet shaped the landscape underneath it was a source
of controversy back then\, and remains a subject of scientific debate toda
 y. \n \nDr. Dawes takes a four-part approach addressing the origin of th
e Okanogan landscape: \n1.	Read published geologic studies of the Okanogan
Lobe and Cordilleran Ice Sheet\;\n2.	learn latest theories of how ice sheet
 s create landforms\;\n3.	use current online map data\; and \n4.	ground-truth
to examine the evidence itself. \n\nYou can attend in-person at the Muse
um\, or via Zoom link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84520197937 Please sign i
n at 7:00 PM\, October 10!\n\nThe program is free and open to the public.
