 eaks Project - Documenting the diversity and distribution of alpine plants
  in Washington's Cascade Range.\n\nThe 50 Peaks Project is a 5-year study 
 initiated by David Giblin in 2021 to comprehensively survey vascular plant
 s on 50 Cascade Range peaks between the Goat Rocks Wilderness and the Cana
 dian Border. Project goals include improving knowledge of alpine species' 
 distributions\, locating new populations of rare plant species\, creating 
 baseline data for future studies examining climate change impacts on alpin
 e plant communities\, and providing undergraduate students with field- and
  collections-based research experience.\n\nDavid Giblin is Collections Man
 ager and Research Botanist at the University of Washington Herbarium of th
 e Burke Museum. David's research focuses on the distribution and diversity
  of the Pacific Northwest vascular plant flora\, for which he has conducte
 d extensive field work throughout the region. He manages the Plants of Was
 hington Image Gallery\, Washington Flora Checklist\, and Consortium of Pac
 ific Northwest Herbaria online databases.  He is lead editor and co-author
  for Flora of the Pacific Northwest\, 2nd edition\, co-author of wildflowe
 r guides to Mount Rainier and Olympic national parks\, co-creator of the W
 ashington Wildflowers identification app\, and Taxon Editor of several fam
 ilies for the Flora of North America Project.\n
