X-WR-CALDESC:Join WRI for our Plant Foraging Series. We will be hosting pla
 nt foraging workshops to introduce people to the abundance of local plants
  and their edible\, medicinal\, and functional uses. Each workshop will fe
 ature a new plant at its unique harvest time. Participants will learn hand
 s-on how to identify\, harvest\, propagate\, and make use of the plant. Ou
 r goal is to empower people to respectfully and reciprocally engage with t
 he plants that live here.  \n\nThis will be an opportunity to harvest chic
 ory on the WRI campus and learn how to process the roots for making your o
 wn drink. Plan to wear clothing to get dirty\, something to collect your h
 arvested roots\, and a long-handled shovel.\n\nThis workshop will be instr
 ucted by our WRI Land Steward Tiffany (who also goes by Tiffa). She is mad
 ly in love with native plants\, lichen\, and fungi in general and has a BA
  in Environmental Studies/Biology from UC Santa Cruz (go Banana Slugs!) Ti
 ffa's interests include rare plants\, fungi\, and lichens\, and serves on 
 the board of the Wenatchee Valley chapter of WNPS\, as an alternate board 
 member of the Northwest Lichenologists\, and does extensive design work fo
 r Fungal Diversity Survey. She is also a volunteer for Rare Care\, monitor
 ing populations of rare plants around Washington State. \n\nRegistration r
 equired.\nSpace is limited\, so sign up fast! Class size: 15\n\nCost is Pa
 y What You Can. Choose a price that is reasonable for you. WRI offers this
  in recognition that not everyone can afford to pay for classes. We hope t
 hat people who can\, will pay to help those you cannot.
