 s to learn more about these nocturnal\, flying mammals? Wenatchee River In
 stitute is teaming up with Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW)
 \, Bats Northwest\, and Happy Valley Bats for a night of family friendly b
 at education.\n\nJoin us for a bat talk to learn all about bats\, their im
 portance\, and what we can do to support these animals. We will highlight 
 conservation actions you can take\; from participating in community scienc
 e\, to making bat houses and improving bat habitat where you live. \n\nLea
 rn about how mist-nets are used by biologists to capture bats in the field
 \, listen for bats with wildlife acoustic technology\, learn about bat res
 cue and rehab\, and much more! WDFW biologists will set up some demonstrat
 ion research stations for participants to see the tools used for bat resea
 rch. There will be other educational resources and activities thanks to Ba
 ts Northwest. \n\nAfter Bat Night\, check out Bat Box building classes at 
 NCW Woodshop in Cashmere. NCW Woodshop will be at Bat Night to show off th
 e Bat Boxes and how they work for bats. <a href='https://www.ncwwoodshop.c
 om/classes/p/batboxes'>Sign up to build your own</a> in July or August and
  create bat habitat in our community.\n\nUnfortunately we are not able to 
 capture live bats this year due to the dangers of White Nose Syndrome to o
 ur local bats.\n\n\nAge Limit: 8+ years old\nAges 15 and under must be acc
 ompanied by an adult.\n\nRegistration for this event is recommended to res
 erve your spot. Cost is Pay What You Can\, and some spots will be availabl
 e at the door. We offer the Pay What You Can model in recognition that pay
 ing for education programs looks different for different people. If you wa
 nt to attend this program\, we want you to be there. Please enter an amoun

 ons\, based on the costs to WRI and travel costs for volunteers from Bats
