 er Institute is participating in the Leavenworth Christmas Bird Count this
  year!\n\nThe Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is a nationwide community science
  effort to count birds that has been happening for over 120 years. It is o
 rganized by the National Audubon Society\, and local counts are compiled b
 y regional Audubon chapters\, community members\, or organizations like WR
 I. Specific counts occur on one day in a 15-mile diameter circle around a 
 town\, and the Leavenworth count is happening on Tuesday\, December 23rd! 
 \n\nThere are plenty of routes to cover and lots of space for volunteer le
 aders or beginning birders to join in. If you'd like to participate\, plea
 se RSVP above and we will send out more information the week before. You d
 o not have to participate for the entire time. \n\nThis is a great opportu
 nity to both volunteer for this amazing community science project as well 
 as learn from fellow community members. There is no cost to participate.
