 tan area is home to over 4 million people and over half of Washington’s po
 pulation. It also supports several commercially and culturally important p
 opulations of salmon. Urbanization in this area can have numerous impacts 
 on salmon and aquatic ecosystems including the impact of artificial light 
 at night (ALAN). Many of the impacts from urbanization have been well stud
 ied\; however\, the impact of ALAN has received little attention until rec
 ently. Of particular interest is the impact of ALAN on juvenile salmon and
  how it may impact their migrations and vulnerability to predation. In thi
 s presentation\, Roger Tabor (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service\, retired) wi
 ll overview past and ongoing research and discuss ongoing efforts to minim
 ize its effects.</li></ul></li>\n<li>8:00-8:30 - Community Science Walk an
