With r ecreation on the rise\, especially in mountain areas\, we aim to discuss p otential effects of recreation on wildlife communities in the greater Casc adia region. We will focus on species that are local to the Cascades\, in and around the Wenatchee Valley and Leavenworth area\, including montane f oxes\, cougars\, bobcats\, deer\, and coyotes. \n\nCome learn about how wi ldlife communities respond to recreational pressures\, the potential effec ts of ski resorts on wildlife\, and a deep dive of the native and state en dangered Cascade red fox.\n\n\nAbout the Presenters\n\nMarwa Mah moud (she/her) is a conservation ecologist who has studied mesocarnivo res in the Oregon and Washington Cascades. She received her master’s in 20 25 from Washington State University and currently works locally for Trout Unlimited and the Wenatchee Entiat Beaver Project. \n\nNate Redon ( he/him) is a wildlife ecologist and PhD Student at the University of Washi ngton. He studies carnivores in the high Cascades. \n\nMarcela Todd Zar agoza (she/her) is a conservation ecologist with a master’s from the U niversity of Washington where she researched recreation ecology. She curre ntly works for Conservation Northwest. \n\nAll three presenters live in th e Wenatchee River valley.
