Wenatchee River Institute is seeking an AmeriCorps Field Educator for the 2019-2020 program year.

Our AmeriCorps Field Educator will serve with us towards our mission of connecting people, communities and the natural world. The Wenatchee River Institute Field Education Project will incorporate our AmeriCorps member into all aspects of educational programming taking place. This will include teaching Field Days, teaching with the Traveling Naturalist program, developing activities for summer camps, leading summer camps, and serving with adult and community education programs and workshops. Volunteers are also essential to our programs, and an AmeriCorps member will serve alongside both staff and volunteers.

We are hiring an educator to expand our Traveling Naturalist program!

Wenatchee River Institute’s Traveling Naturalist - Field Educator 2 is a program leadership role within the Field Education Program, responsible for a specific programmatic focus area. This position focuses on the Traveling Naturalist program, specifically expanding the program to teach in classrooms and includes a summer component for youth from the seasonal farm worker housing camp. The classroom component will include monthly visits to school classrooms and one or two field trips per class annually (to local sites and/or Wenatchee River Institute).
