MARCH 26TH E-NEWSLETTER
Don't Let It Get You Down! Last week WRI staff got together for some outside maintenance and fresh air. Our laughs came out after working hard to remove invasive blackberries from the property. Why not make a dance to keep spirits high? It worked for us, and we hope it makes you laugh as well! These are trying times, but we are making the best of it. Like the video, and want to see more? When donations reach $1,000 we will do another one more zippy and more exciting!

Last week WRI's Youth Programs Manager Will Crowley set off on his next adventure. Will had an amazing way of connecting youth to the natural world through his own genuine enthusiasm. He will be missed by staff, teachers, volunteers, and students. Thank you Will for building upon the youth programs with commitment and intention. We wish you the best in whatever comes your way!
WRI's campus is becoming a destination for weddings. To help WRI market itself as a wedding venue, Gather Leavenworth planned to stage a photo shoot inside the River Haus. Creative thinking by Gather’s owner, Ashley Coffin, resulted in a better plan – why stage a fake wedding when we could offer an “elopement” for a couple with a wedding cancelled by coronavirus? Fast social marketing and a worthy couple was found. Their cancelled wedding would now be held at the Wenatchee River Institute – complete with the couple, one witness, live-streaming for their families in Korea and India, wedding photos, and an intimate catered dinner for the couple. All at no charge. Unfortunately, “Stay Safe – Stay Home” guidance forced the cancellation of these plans too. Luckily, just postponed for now. Thank you, Gather Leavenworth, for trying to help one disappointed couple!
