End of Year Giving

WRI's End-of-Year campaign as well as Give NCW ends on December 31st - this Friday. But there's still time to give! On Give NCW's final Match Wednesday (TODAY), the first $15,000 in donations will be matched!

No matter how you give, you are helping us further our mission and connect people of all ages to nature right here in our own backyard. Your donation will not only give students and adults a great experience today, but it will set them on the path to become environmental advocates.

RBE: The Approach

Record-Breaking Red Barn Events!

This December was busy for Red Barn Events - not only that, but records were broken!

  • On December 9th, we hosted Ingrid Backstrom to show the film The Approach and talk about its creation and mission. Over 150 people attended this event and over $500 in donations were raised! If you didn't get to attend this event and would still like to watch the film, click here.
  • On December 15th, we hosted Lowell Skoog to discuss his book, Written in the Snows. Over 100 people attended this event!
  • On December 16th, we hosted Dan Nanamkin for an evening of culture, laughter, and spirit. 45 people attended this event! This was one of our first Red Barn Events hosting a Colville Confederated Tribes member to share stories, experiences, and art.

That's a wrap on 2021 programs!

WRI is hitting the ground running for 2022 programs...

Hummingbird Project

Join the Hummingbird Community Science Project

The North Central Washington Audubon Society (NCWAS) has announced their community science study: the North Central Washington Hummingbird Project. Over the last decade, there has been increasing numbers of overwintering Anna's Hummingbirds. NCWAS is collecting data to support these populations and they need YOU!

Do you have a heated hummingbird feeder? Do you want to learn how to obtain or make a heated hummingbird feeder? Do you know how to properly care for your feeder? Check out the materials given by NCWAS and Wenatchee Naturalist to learn how you can participate in this project.
