Summer Camp Registration and Waitlists |
There's still space in one of the newly added camps!
Naturalist Camp (entering grades 1-3), August 7-11
All other summer camps are full, but we are working through the waitlists as those camps get closer. Sign up for a waitlist here and you will be notified if your camper gets to the top of the list. |

|
Summer is in full swing! Check out some highlights from the summer camps that happened in the last couple of weeks below. |
|
|
Campers entering grades 1-3 had fun learning all about food in Soil to Snack Camp! Campers visited Snowgrass Farm and got their hands dirty, they made delicious snacks (like dried local apricots!), discovered cool critters that help our food grow, and played lots of games. |
|
In this partnered camp, campers ages 6-10 spent their mornings learning mountain bike skills and trail riding with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. They spent their afternoons at WRI exploring the area and walking the trails. On their final day, they helped maintain trails! |
|
|
There were 2 sessions of River Wild in the last 2 weeks! In this camp, campers entering grades 4-6 explored the Wenatchee River. They went paddle-boarding and tubing, learning the skills and knowledge to continue adventuring in the river! |

We need your help! A couple of WRI staff members are looking for housing in the area. Do you have any leads? -
A new staff member is looking for housing to move in at the end of August or beginning of September. They are looking for a place to stay in Leavenworth (20-30 minute commute max). They do not have pets, but are okay with roommates having pets. Their budget is around $1,000/month.
-
Another staff member is looking for a house to rent for 2 people and one friendly cat. They are looking anywhere from Leavenworth to Wenatchee and need to move in by October. Their budget is $2,000/month.
If you have any leads, please email Randee. Thank you for your help in the search! |

Gleaning Volunteer Opportunities |
Have you heard of Upper Valley MEND's gleaning program? Gleaning is harvesting excess or unmarketable produce from farms, orchards, and backyard gardens. All of this produce goes to the local food bank, the Community Cupboard.
This week and next week, Upper Valley MEND needs as many hands as possible to glean 4 acres of cherries in Cashmere! You can register to volunteer for dates this week: WRI staff is hoping to help glean cherries sometime next week. Stay tuned for details to be released on our social media. We hope you can join us!
All gleaning volunteer opportunities can be found here. |
