Winter STEM Camp at Lake Wenatchee |
Last week, WRI Field Educators visited the YMCA camp at Lake Wenatchee. They delivered a lesson about winter animal strategies and adaptations for the YMCA's Winter STEM Camp with students from the Wenatchee Internet Academy and the Valley Academy of Learning. In this lesson, students learned about the different strategies animals have for the winter: tolerate, migrate, or hibernate. They learned about the animals who stay here to tolerate the winter and looked at some skins and skulls of these animals. They also played "Migration Mayhem" to learn about the strategies animals use to leave here for winter.
