Traveling Planetarium

Manson Elementary

Our educators saw every students at Manson Elementary for an exciting day of astronomical learning. That's over 250 TK-5th graders! Depending on grade level, these astronomers explored the stars and planets. They also learned how the sun's placement in the sky changes throughout the year.

YMCA STEM Camp

The traveling planetarium took a maiden voyage to Lake Wenatchee YMCA for Wenatchee Valley Academy of Learning’s Winter Stem Camp. 50 student's oooh'd and aaaah'd at the planets and constellations. The students were excited to learn about the winter constellations they would see on a night hike later on.

After School Program Reflection

And with that, our After School Pilot Program comes to an end. Students met up with WRI staff at Alpine Lakes Elementary and either took the Otter Van or walked to WRI for a variety of fun winter activities. They played in the snow, colored pictures, read some fun books, explored the planetarium, built hibernation stations, and connected with their friends. We're taking a break from After School Program in February to hire some new educators (more on that below) but will hopefully be back soon. If you are interested in participating in ASP, but did not participate in the pilot program in December or January, please fill out this survey to help us plan for the rest of the school year.

Remember to Vote!

Tuesday, February 11th

Please remember to VOTE before Feb 11- School levies are on the ballot that was mailed to you on January 25. Levies are the way we ALL support the local schools with property tax dollars. The Cascade Levy is a replacement at the same combined rate as was approved in in 2021, not new taxes.

You can learn more about levies here. If you've already voted, give yourself a pat on the back and send a reminder to your friends.
