Holiday Parking Support

It’s that time of year again—holiday parking starts this weekend! We’re looking for volunteers to help out during the three weekends leading up to Christmas. This is a fun and easy way to support WRI while greeting visitors and helping the community enjoy the season.

We’ll need 2–3 volunteers each day to help with parking from 1:00–3:00 PM. Roles include waving people in at the top of the hill, directing parking, and collecting donations.

Dates:

  • Saturday, December 6 (1 needed)
  • Sunday, December 7 (1 needed)
  • Saturday, December 13 (2 needed)
  • Sunday, December 14 (1 needed)
  • Saturday, December 20 (2 needed)
  • Sunday, December 21 (2 needed)

If you’re interested in helping, please sign up soon! We may also consider adding December 27–28 if enough volunteers are available.

Your support makes a big difference every year. Thank you for helping keep this beloved holiday tradition running smoothly!

Join Our Snowshoe Stroll Volunteer Team!

WRI is hosting a Snowshoe Stroll Volunteer Training on Saturday, December 13th, and we’d love for you to be part of our winter season. At this training, you’ll learn how our strolls run, what to expect in volunteer roles like Co-Leader or Sweep, and how to stay safe and comfortable on snowshoes. We provide snowshoes, poles, lunch, and hot chocolate—just bring warm layers and water! It’s a fun, supportive way to get ready for a meaningful volunteer opportunity that helps connect our community to the winter landscape.

Snowshoe Strolls take place Fridays and Saturdays in January and February at the Hatchery, and after the training you'll be able to choose the dates that work for you.

Click the red button below to RSVP for the volunteer training on December 13th.

If you can't attend the training but want to be involved, email Angela. We’d still love to have you join us!

Día de los Reyes Volunteers Needed

Saturday, January 3rd

We’d love your help during our upcoming Día de los Reyes (Three Kings Day) celebration! The festivities will take place throughout Leavenworth from 1–7 PM, and we’ll be hosting part of the celebration on our campus from 1–3 PM with outdoor exploration, snowshoe tours, and fun games for kids.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with registration, kids’ activities, and snowshoe tours. Bilingual volunteers (English/Spanish) are especially appreciated as we welcome members of the Latino community to our campus, but anyone excited to lend a hand and share in the celebration is welcome!

If you’re interested in volunteering, please email Virginia. We’d love to have you join us for this joyful community event. More details on volunteer roles to come.
