Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest begins TOMORROW! It's the biggest Bird Fest ever with over 50 birding field trips around North Central Washington. There are still many trips with space! Here are just a few: Friday, May 19th - 7am-12pm: Birding Beebe Springs

- 12:30-3:30pm: Bike and Bird Leavenworth
Saturday, May 20th - 7:30am-12pm: Exploring the Entiat Waterfront

- 8am-12pm: Bike and Bird Wenatchee
- 8am-2pm: Douglas Creek Art-venture
- 12-3pm: Wildflower Walk on Ski Hill

Bird Fest Workshops Friday, May 19th WRI Red Barn |
Join WRI and NCW Audubon Society for one of the 3 Bird Fest workshops this Friday, including Falconry and Conservation in Today's World (2-3pm), Composition in Bird Photography (3-4pm), and The World of Hummingbirds (6-7pm). An opportunity for families, youth, and adults to take part in art and nature activities, learn about and see REAL birds of prey, embark on a free guided nature walk, browse and purchase art from local artists, learn about local organizations, eat delicious local food, and enjoy LIVE music from local musician, Eric Link! Join the Bird Fest Planning Committee for a social before the BBQ and Keynote Address. Join WRI and the Cascade Garden Club for a free Community Starts Swap at the E. Lorene Young Community Garden. If you have starts to swap, bring them and we will have tables set up for your plants. If you do not have starts, come on down to see what is available to go home with! All are welcome.

| Noxious Weed ID Training Friday, June 2nd 9:00AM-10:00AM

Join WRI and Jenna Medlar from the Chelan County Noxious Weed Control Board for a FREE Noxious Weed ID Training. You'll walk around the WRI campus and learn how to identify common noxious weeds of the area. Please register to let us know you are coming. There is an optional weeding work party to follow. Become a Garden Volunteer |
Did you know that there are 7 different gardens spaced throughout Wenatchee River Institute's 13 acres? All of these gardens are mostly managed by our lovely volunteers! We are currently looking for more volunteers to help out with our gardens, particularly the Frances B. Field Memorial Garden and the Pond Garden. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy flower gardening or would like to learn more about gardening.
