There are only three weekends left of WRI's Snowshoe Strolls at WRI and the Hatchery! Join us before the 2022 snowshoe season is over. Take a walk through winter wonderland with WRI's knowledgeable naturalists, learning about native wildlife, ecology, and history.

Join WRI and the Washington Native Plant Society for a FREE plant identification workshop! During the winter months, deciduous woody shrubs and trees without flowers and leaves still hold clues to their identity. You'll stroll along the Wenatchee River and learn plant ID along the way.

WRI invites you to join us for a 2-day introduction to the language of wildlife tracking. You'll you’ll gain a basic understanding of how to identify and interpret the commonly left tracks and sign of birds, mammals, and insects of our region.

New StoryWalk® Book!

Our next StoryWalk® is up! Come check out this month's book: Goodbye Autumn, Hello Winter by Kenard Pak. WRI's StoryWalk® is a fun way to spend time outdoors while being active and learning something new! Begin the StoryWalk® at our kiosk in the parking lot and follow the frames from there.

Field Day with Alpine Lakes Elementary

Alpine Lakes 5th graders participated in their third session of Field Days with WRI! They went on a short snowshoe walk learning about and looking for signs of winter adaptations with plants and animals. They also built snow pits and found the snow water equivalency of our snowpack at the time.

Kids in the Snow Program

WRI Youth Education Staff helped support Cascadia Conservation District's Kids in the Snow Program with 7th grade students from Pinnacles Prep Charter School. They went on a snowshoe walk at Squilchuck State Park and learned how to find how much water is in the snow. They learned about how the melted snow feeds the rivers and why understanding our snowpack can be so important!

Now Hiring Summer Interns!

Do you have an interest in science and nature? Are you interested in working with youth? Join our Summer Camp Team! The Summer Camp Educator Intern will assist with the planning and delivery of WRI Youth Summer Camps for campers entering grades 1-6. You will spend your days outdoors and be a teammate to other WRI Youth Programs Staff, volunteers, and interns. This is a seasonal position from mid-June to mid-August working 32-40 hours/week.
