Students Get Outside for Summer Since our last E-Newsletter, four more summer camps have been held, including Kids in the Wild, Bike & Explore, Cool Critters, and River Wild (Session 2). Here are some highlights! Kids in the Wild Grades 4-6 Campers practiced their archery skills, learned how to fish with help from Trout Unlimited, and spent time exploring neighboring waters and trails. Special thanks to Bob Stroup, Mike Wyant, and Jim! Bike & Explore Ages 6-10 Campers biked with the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance in the mornings. In the afternoons, campers explored things like birds, bugs, boat building, playing games and making nature bikes as a craft at WRI.
Cool Critters Grades 1-3 Campers explored and discovered cool critters at WRI and surrounding areas. Campers collected bugs and rocks, learned about local critters, including farm animals, and played lots of animal games. Special thanks to Refuge River Ranch! River Wild Grades 4-6 Campers learned how to paddle-board, went tubing, floated the channel, looked for macroinvertebrates in the river, learned about local wildlife, and explored the river and all it has to offer.
ATTENTION: Keep your eyes peeled for announcements of camp vacancies. Sometimes spots may open last minute! If you're interested in enrolling your child in camp, join the waitlist.
