Tracking Certification Class with David Moskowitz

Spend two full days in the greater Leavenworth area, with professional wildlife tracker, naturalist, educator and author, David Moskowitz. This class is a track and sign certification class through CyberTracker North America.

Composting 101

In this workshop, Betsy will share step-by-step methods for successful composting with a traditional compost bin, a barrel composter, and a worm bin. You'll learn the pros and cons of each method, so you can decide which one best suits your needs.

River Recreation Study and Recreation Ambassador Program

Guided Nature Walks

Starting June 17th

Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we are offering guided nature walks for both locals and visitors. We will learn about the natural and cultural history of Leavenworth with scenic views of the river and mountains along the way!

Field Day with Peshastin-Dryden Elementary!

Schools can't come to us, so we are going to them! We worked with all grades at Peshastin-Dryden Elementary during our field day. The students got to be animal detectives looking for beanie babies camouflaged on a trail. The students were also able to see an osprey and a quail nest. Next field day, we will be visiting Alpine Lakes Elementary!

Bird Fest was a Hoot!

Thank you to all that attended this year's Bird Fest! WRI and the NCW Audubon Society worked hard to make sure there was something for everyone. Our hybrid model was successful, offering a wide range of in-person field trips and virtual workshops. Many of our participants were local, but many also travelled from other parts of the state. An exciting variety of bird species were seen throughout the whole weekend! In case you missed the virtual keynote presentation with Dennis Paulson, click HERE. Also, a huge thanks to our volunteers!
