Social Justice Series: Diversity in the Outdoors

Thursday, September 3, 2020
12:00 pm1:00 pm
Virtual

A collaboration between Wenatchee River Institute and Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center.

Lack of diversity in nature and outdoor recreation is real and there are many factors contributing to the disparities. North Central Washington is an outdoor recreation hub, with climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, whitewater activities, gardening, and so much more. Yet, not everyone in our community is represented in these activities. Join a panel of local community members on Thursday, September 3rd at 12pm on Zoom and from the Wenatchee Valley Museum’s Facebook page.

Questions may be submitted in advance to info@wvmcc.org, rbishop@wenatcheeriverinstitute.org, or live via Zoom Q&A, Zoom Chat, or FB Live. Live Spanish translation will be provided by Clarius Languages. To access this feature participants need to log-in with the Zoom login and select Spanish audio channel under the world icon.

Panelists:
Karen Francis-McWhite: mom, gardener, baker, writer – hiking, camping, nordic skiing
Chelsea Murphy of @shecolorsnature – hiking, camping, snowboarding and all things that get her out and connected to nature!
