After School Fun with Friends
At the Wenatchee River Institute (WRI), we believe the best way for students to decompress after a school day is to be outside with friends. Our After School Program focuses on connecting youth to the natural world, making new friends, and having fun! WRI's After School Program is offered throughout the school year on a quarterly basis. Each season brings more - and different - opportunities to learn about the world around us, play fun games, explore the trails on WRI's 13-acre campus, make art, and more!
In addition to After School Program at WRI, we partner with Wenatchee and Orondo School Districts to offer After School Program to their students at their schools.
Fill out the After School Program Interest Form to let us know your interest in ASP for the 2026-2027 school year. Families who fill out the form will be the first to get notifications about registration.
Cost: We want every child to have a chance to learn and play outside with us. WRI's After School Program is priced in the Pay What You Can structure to make the program as affordable as possible to all families. It is our hope that some families will have the ability to pay a little more to offset the costs for families who cannot. For the 2025-2026 school year, the base cost for After School Program was $35/day. The cost for each session is calculated based on the number of program days. Registration is set up so you can pay for the program in full when you register or set up a monthly payment plan. The cost will be pro-rated if your student signs up after the session begins.
Who: After School Program is open to students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
When: WRI After School Program will start shortly after the school year begins and run through early June. We will run the program in Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions; each session will have a separate registration. We will not have ASP on Cascade School District's half days or no school days. We will offer the program four afternoons per week. WRI staff will meet students at Alpine Lakes Elementary School and walk (or drive) to WRI's campus. WRI will provide snacks, and pick-up is by 5:30pm at WRI.
