After School Fun with Friends
At the Wenatchee River Institute (WRI), we believe the best way for students to decompress after a school day is to be outside with friends. Our After School Program (ASP) focuses on connecting youth to the natural world, making new friends, and having fun! WRI's ASP is offered throughout the school year on a quarterly basis. Each season brings new and different opportunities to learn about the world around us, play fun games, explore the trails on WRI's 13-acre campus, make art, and more!
In addition, we partner with Wenatchee and Orondo School Districts to offer After School Program to their students at their schools.

Fall 2026 ASP Session Details
Cost: We want every child to have a chance to learn and play outside with us. WRI's ASP is priced in the Pay What You Can structure to make the program as affordable as possible to all families. It is our hope that some families will have the ability to pay a little more to offset the costs for families who cannot. For the 2026-2027 school year, the base cost for ASP is $40/day. The cost for each session is calculated based on the number of program days. Registration is set up so you can pay for the program in full when you register or set up a monthly payment plan. The cost will be pro-rated if your student signs up after the session begins. The discount codes are listened on the registration page.

Who: Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
When: WRI's ASP will start shortly after the school year begins and run through early June. The Fall ASP Session runs September 8 - December 17, 2026. We will run the program in Fall, Winter, and Spring Sessions; each session will have a separate registration. We will not have ASP on Cascade School District's half days or no school days. We will offer the program four afternoons per week. Transportation will be provided for students from Peshastin-Dryden and Alpine Lakes Elementary Schools. (Transportation options include bussing from school OR WRI staff will meet students at Alpine Lakes Elementary School and walk (or drive) to WRI's campus. Transportation plan will be finalized by the time program starts.) WRI will provide snacks and pick-up is by 5:30pm at WRI.

Scholarship: Thanks to generous support from Hotel Pension Anna, WRI is offering two 90% tuition scholarships for a 2-days-per-week session in Fall ASP to eligible Cascade School District families! If you have a financial need for childcare, please fill out our Scholarship Application Form before registration to express your interest. We are holding two spots in the Tuesday/Thursday session for scholarship recipients. Please submit the scholarship form by September 1st!
