After School Fun with Friends
At the Wenatchee River Institute (WRI), we believe the best way for students to decompress after a school day is to be outside with friends. Our After School Program focuses on connecting youth to the natural world, making new friends, and having fun! WRI's After School Program is offered throughout the school year on a quarterly basis. Each season brings more - and different - opportunities to learn about the world around us, play fun games, explore the trails on WRI's 13-acre campus, make art, and more!
In addition to After School Program at WRI, we partner with Wenatchee and Orondo School Districts to offer After School Program to their students at their schools.
Cost: We want every child to have a chance to learn and play outside with us. Our After School Program is priced in the Pay What You Can structure to make the program as affordable as possible to all families. It is our hope that some families will have the ability to pay a little more to offset the costs for families who cannot. The base cost for After School Program is $35/day. The cost for each session is calculated based on the number of program days. We do not have ASP on Cascade School District's half days or no school days. For the Winter ASP session, the cost to enroll in four days/week is $1470 and the cost to enroll for two days/week is $735. Registration is set up so you can pay for the program in full when you register or set up a monthly payment plan.
Who: After School Program is open to Kindergarten through 3rd grade students.
When: The Winter ASP session runs January 5 - March 26. We will offer the program four afternoons per week. WRI staff will meet students at Alpine Lakes Elementary School and walk (or drive) to WRI's campus. WRI will provide snacks, and pick-up is by 5:30pm at WRI.
Registration: Register for all four days or a two day session (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday).
Enter the lottery for the Winter ASP session. We are using a lottery system to fill open spots in the Winter ASP session. Use this link to enter the lottery. Lottery entries must be received by Monday, December 15 at 8:00am. We'll notify you of the results later that week and send registration links to families who got spots. Note: For the Winter ASP session, the most availability is for the Monday/Wednesday session.
