Refunds and Cancellations
At the Wenatchee River Institute (WRI), we know that life is unpredictable and plans can change unexpectedly. While we always aim to be as accommodating as possible, our programs require significant advance planning, staffing, and supplies. To ensure we can continue offering high-quality experiences for our community while covering our baseline operational costs, the following refund and cancellation policies apply to WRI's programs. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Community Programs
This policy refers to any Community Program that requires paid registration, whether that is a fixed fee or a Pay What You Can fee. This includes Bird Fest, Snowshoe Strolls, Workshops, and other Community Programs.
If you need to cancel your registration for a Community Program, you must notify us by phone or email.
If a registration is cancelled:
- 30 days out or more, you will receive a 90% refund
- Less than 30 days out a 50% refund
- Less than 1 week out no refund will be given.
Although we rarely need to do so, we reserve the right to cancel a program. In this case, you will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to manage refunds on a case-by-case basis.
Substitutions: If you can no longer attend a program, someone else may attend in your place. Please provide the name and email address of the substitution when you notify us of your cancellation.
Youth Programs
Refunds and cancellations are treated different for WRI's Youth Camps and After School Program since they are entirely different programs. Review the information below based on which Youth Program you are needing a refund for.

Youth Camps
If a registration for a Youth Camp is cancelled:
- 30 or more days out you will receive an 80% refund
- Less than 30 days out a 50% refund
- Less than 2 weeks out no refund will be given.
Although we rarely need to do so, we reserve the right to cancel a program. In this case, you will receive a full refund.
Substitutions: if we are able to fill your space with someone from the waitlist, or if you know someone who would like to take your place, you will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee.
After School Program
After School Program (ASP) occurs on a quarterly basis with two sessions per week. Each quarterly session can be paid for in full or on a monthly payment plan. The cost for each session is based on the number of program days, and refunds are based on a case-by-case basis.
- If registration for a full session of ASP is cancelled before the session begins, you will receive a 90% refund.
- If registration for a full session of ASP is cancelled and the session has already begun, you will receive a pro-rated refund for the days remaining in the session minus a 10% processing fee.
- Although we rarely need to do so, we reserve the right to cancel a day of program. In this case, you will receive a pro-rated refund for the day(s) cancelled.
We do not offer day-by-day refunds based on sickness, vacation, or any other reason. Your registration, in part, reserves your student's place in ASP. Again, these needs are addressed on case-by-case basis.
