Presentation: Log Jams and the Like: Recent Aquatic Restoration in the Wenatchee River Subbasin

Description: The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest implements habitat restoration projects as part of its aquatic conservation strategy. In the Wenatchee River Ranger District, the scope and scale of aquatic restoration activities has increased dramatically as partnerships, funding, and permitting pathways flourish. Come learn about the particulars of restoring aquatic health from the lens of a Forest Service fish biologist. The presentation will touch on planning, development, and project implementation. Intricacies of Forest Service procedures and project permitting will also be visited. Finally, highlights of local aquatic restoration projects will be displayed before a group discussion and/or questions. The presentation and discussion are for all, from the interested public to project practitioners.

Presenter: McLain Johnson is a Fish Biologist for the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Leavenworth.
