WRI is holding a Volunteer Training for those who are interested in volunteering for our Snowshoe Strolls beginning this January! This training is designed for volunteers to learn how Snowshoe Strolls work, learn your role as a volunteer, and safety while on snowshoes.

There are two volunteer training date options: Wednesday, December 14th or Saturday, December 17th. Please RSVP for the training by clicking the red button above. If you'd like to come, but can't make either training, please email Randee at rzerger@wenatcheeriverinstitute.org.

There are two main roles you can be as a volunteer: co-leader or the caboose. You will have the chance learn more about these roles and let us know your comfort level. As a co-leader, you can help lead by telling participants about the area, plants, animals, or any other interest areas. As the caboose, you will be at the back of the group making sure no participants are left behind.

Snowshoe Strolls will happen in January and February. They will occur on Thursdays at WRI from 10am-12pm, Fridays at the Hatchery from 1-3pm, and Saturdays at the Hatchery from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm. After the training is complete, you will have the opportunity to sign up for times that work for you to volunteer.

Please bring your own sack lunch and water. We will provide some hot chocolate!

Thank you for being interested in volunteering with WRI's Community Programs!
