WRI is hosting a Snowshoe Stroll Volunteer Training, and we’d love for you to be part of our team this season!

At this training, you’ll learn how our Snowshoe Strolls run, what to expect in each volunteer role, and how to stay safe and comfortable on snowshoes. It’s a fun, supportive way to get ready for a meaningful volunteer opportunity that helps connect our community to the winter landscape.

Click the red button above to RSVP.
If you’re interested but can’t attend the training, please email Angela at acrampton@wenatcheeriverinstitute.org
—we’d still love to find a way for you to join us!
And if you’re new to WRI, RSVP’ing will also sign you up for volunteer email updates.

Volunteer Roles
You can choose between two key roles—Co-Leader or Sweep (Caboose):

  • Co-Leaders help guide the group and can share fun facts about local plants, wildlife, ecology, or whatever sparks their curiosity.
  • Sweeps walk at the back, making sure everyone stays together and has a great experience.

You’ll learn more about both roles during the training and pick what fits you best. A WRI staff member will always be on the stroll with you.

Snowshoe Stroll Schedule
Strolls run in January and February at the Hatchery:

  • Fridays: 1:00–3:00 pm
  • Saturdays: 10:00 am–12:00 pm & 1:00–3:00 pm
After the training, you’ll be able to sign up for the dates and times that work for you.

What We Provide
Bring warm layers and plenty of water—we’ll take care of the rest!

During the training, we provide:

  • Snowshoes and poles
  • Lunch
  • Hot chocolate to keep you cozy

Thank you for being part of WRI’s Community Programs. We couldn’t do this without you!
