Tuesday, January 14, 2020
7:00 pm8:30 pm
Red Barn, 347 Division Street, Leavenworth

Explore our local mountains and forests with award-winning author and culinary adventurer Langdon Cook, on a quest to find the region’s most sought after wild ingredients for the table. This "patch to plate" slideshow of foraged foods in both their habitat and finished dishes will have you reaching for your boots, baskets, and sauté pans. Question and answer time and book signing to follow.

Langdon Cook is a writer, instructor, and lecturer on wild foods and the outdoors. His books include “Upstream: Searching for Wild Salmon, from River to Table” (Ballantine, May 2017), a finalist for the Washington State Book Award, “The Mushroom Hunters: On the Trail of an Underground America,” winner of the 2014 Pacific Northwest Book Award, and “Fat of the Land: Adventures of a 21st Century Forager,” which The Seattle Times called “lyrical, practical and quixotic.” Cook’s work has been nominated for two James Beard Awards (2016 and 2019), a Society for Environmental Journalists award, and a Pushcart Prize. Cook lives in Seattle with his wife and their two children.

Doors open at 6:30pm for community social and no-host bar; presentation begins at 7:00pm.
