Red Barn Event: Composting with Red Wrigglers
Join us in the Red Barn for an evening with Sustainable Wenatchee Board Member and compost extraordinaire, Betsy Dudash. When you compost indoors with Red Wigglers, your kitchen scraps will be turned into nutrient-rich worm castings no matter what the weather's like outside. Vermicomposting, as it's called, is probably even easier than you might think. Betsy will demonstrate how to start composting with worms, including discussing the types of bins you can buy or make. You'll also learn why Red Wigglers are the best for vermicomposting, how to keep them happy, and how to harvest and use your worm castings. Betsy will also include a few tips on outdoor composting in our climate.
This event is put on by Wenatchee River Institute, Waste Loop, and Sustainable Wenatchee.
This is a FREE event with a donation basket at door.
Doors open at 6:30pm for a community social with beer and wine available for purchase. Betsy's presentation will start at 7:00pm.
