Orin Melvin
Orin grew up in Wenatchee and his love for nature came from hiking the foothills, camping with the Scouts, and fishing on our local lakes and rivers. After working in outdoor tourism in Morocco, he returned with his family to Wenatchee where he earned a degree in Elementary Education from Central Washington University and a Master of Arts in Teaching in the Biological Sciences from Miami University through the Global Field Program. Orin is currently a STEAM teacher for the Quincy School District. He is passionate about the environment and is involved in the Backyard Wildlife Habitat program and supports other conservation efforts. He loves that the Wenatchee River Institute is dedicated to outdoor education for youth so they too can cherish the beauty of nature.
