Bird Fest Youth Art Contest

Join the Wenatchee River Institute and Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest to participate in this year's Youth Art Contest!

You'll have the chance to win a prize and have your art featured on the 2024 Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest poster. The poster will be distributed around the Wenatchee Valley to promote this year's Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest from May 16th-19th, 2024.

To participate, you must:

  • be in grades K-8
  • have a bird focus* in the art piece (color is required)
  • submit art that is no larger than 11x17 inches
  • submit your art as a jpeg/png in the form below**
  • submit art by Tuesday, March 5th at 12pm

*Preferably a bird that can be found in North Central Washington.

**Scanned art (jpeg/png) is the preferred method of submission, but if you are unable to do so, we can collect a hardcopy. You can either bring it to the Wenatchee River Institute offices in the River Haus (347 Division Street) OR mail it to us at PO Box 2073 Leavenworth, WA 98826. Please make sure to include all of the information that is mentioned below. We will begin reviewing immediately after the deadline, so please make sure it arrives by March 5th.

Note: only one art piece per student will be accepted.

Please keep in mind that the winning art piece may be manipulated to fit on an 11x17 poster. Tip: keep the background simple! We need enough blank space to include other information on the poster.

If you'd like to see some examples from past years' submissions, check out the Bird Fest Youth Art Gallery. Check out the past years' winning poster designs below:
