Presentation: More than just a drink: The art and science of hard cider

Description: Hard cider production goes beyond fermentation—every decision, from apple variety to yeast choice and specialized fermentation techniques, shapes the flavor and character of the final product. Join us for an engaging exploration of cider history, the diverse world of apple varietals, the fermentation process, and how these elements come together to create distinct cider profiles. Leave this session inspired to refine your cider palate and seek out new varieties and styles to expand your tasting experience.

Presenter: Marcy has deep roots in Washington’s agriculture and hard cider industries, with a particular focus on the sustainability of hard cider production for her Master’s in Agriculture. Her extensive experience spans the entire cider industry, from apple and cider production to sales and guiding customers in discovering their ideal cider. Currently, Marcy works to connect landowners and farmers across Chelan County with free technical and financial assistance, helping them thrive in their agricultural endeavors.
