Ponderosa Pine Basket Weaving
Christi Lewis is a retired teacher, living in the Lake Wenatchee area. As a child, she spent many summers with her grandmother collecting rocks, sticks, pine cones and other bits of nature for all sorts of art projects. When a fellow teacher taught her to make pine needle baskets, she was hooked and gradually expanded this skill through practice, books and videos.
Come learn from our local basket weaving extraordinaire, Christi Lewis. Using home glycerin baked ponderosa pine needles you will learn to coil and weave a basket with a wood cookie base, taking home a finished product. Beads and materials from the forest will be included to embellish your craft, too!
A sandwich lunch will be provided from the local Dan's Market.
