CANCELLED Red Barn Event: Up Close and Personal with Bears and Cougars
Over the past 20 years, focused long-term research in Washington has resulted in a more complete understanding of the complex world of carnivore ecology and management. This presentation with Rich Beausoleil is designed to share that research and inform participants of how bears and cougars live, interact with eachother, and orient themselves on the landscape. We will also discuss carnivore-human interactions and bring some perspective to what at times seems to be sea of conflicting interpretations. One thing is for sure, if you attend this discussion you will walk away with a whole new understanding of these animals and be better informed.
Rich Beausoleil is the statewide Bear & Cougar Specialist with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He has worked with these animals for 22 years and is still learning as he goes.
Doors open at 6:30pm for community social and no-host bar; presentation begins at 7:00pm.
