Have you always wanted to grow your own food, herbs, or flowers, but have never known where to start? Or maybe you were worried about not having enough space for your dream garden. Come learn from avid gardener and WRI staff member, Chelsea Trout.

In this class, we’ll start by learning about plant hardiness zones, understanding seed packets, and what is needed. Next, we’ll dive a little deeper with a discussion on which plants grow well next to each other (handouts provided to take home). We will also learn about how to plan out the space of your garden or inside by a window with lights, with designated time to sketch your own garden designs with assistance. At the end of the class, we’ll have an open discussion where you can ask questions and we can problem-solve together.

Please note: This class is capped at 20 participants so that Chelsea has a chance to work one on one with all the participants in their own person garden planning process. If you are unable to attend the class, be sure to let Chelsea know so others will be able to attend.

Cost is Pay What You Can. Choose a price that is reasonable for you. WRI offers this in recognition that not everyone can afford to pay for classes. We hope that people who can, will pay to help those you cannot.

Class will take place at the Red Barn at the Wenatchee River Institute.
