eBird Survey at WRI

Wednesday, March 9, 2022
8:00 am9:30 am
Wenatchee River Institute, 347 Division Street, Leavenworth

Join knowledgeable WRI staff on this birding survey around our campus! All skill levels welcome. This is a great opportunity to learn about eBird, the largest biodiversity-related community science project in the world, and utilize it to record our observations of local wild birds. We will conduct four 15-minute stationary bird counts for an hour of birding. Total walking distance is ½ mile, over a gravel path with two moderate hills. Come prepared for the weather and bring your binoculars if you have them – if not, we can supply you with a pair for the survey! These walks will happen once per month for the whole year. Join us for as many as you can!

Trail difficulty level: beginner level
Not ADA accessible due to non-plowed trails in winter

Meet outside the River Haus at 8am and plan to be finished by 9:30am. No registration required.

For programs that are fully outside, we suggest that participants are vaccinated for COVID-19, though this is not required. We ask that you wear a mask during check in and while using the restroom.
