Biochar and Burn-Pile Workshop
Registration link: https://lu.ma/vd62mfv3
Join the Cascadia Prescribed Burn Association at the Wenatchee River Institute in Leavenworth for a biochar and burn-pile workshop. It's important to Firewise your property and have defensible space. When you're creating defensible space, you are often left with a surplus of branches and wood. By using a simple, fire-pit sized kiln, you can turn these materials into a valuable soil amendment.
We will also have a larger kiln (appropriate for larger properties outside the Leavenworth Urban Growth Area) available for viewing.
Forward this event to local friends and neighbors so you all can benefit from better air quality, reduced wildfire risk, and improved soils.
Schedule
Check-in & Kiln Loading: 9 am
Ignition: 9:30 am
Conservation Burn-pile Building Session: 10:30 am
Kiln Quench: 11:30 am
Wrap up: Noon pm
There will be multiple biochar-related topics for us to cover in-between kiln loadings. Come prepared with questions and curiosity as we'll have plenty of time for Q&A along the way.

The check-in area will be at the covered picnic benches south of the main parking lot.
